The Marías

After a long awaited reschedule, The Marías performed at Stubb’s, kicking off ACL Fest Late Nights. Walking onto stage as the lights flickered, María Zardoya fittingly opened the show up with a couple of songs from their album Cinema, like Un Millón and Calling You Back.

As the set design was fairly plain with no visuals, the crowd was entranced by the leader singer’s bilingual vocals that were echoed by everyone listening along. With the diversity of their Latin influenced indie/soul discography, the set list never felt disconnected, as every single song transitioned so seamlessly into the next.

To wrap up the show, The Marías ended the night with their iconic song, Hush leaving the crowd in absolute shambles, with a yearning for more. I am sure most of the audience went to go see their set again on the last day of ACL weekend to have the pleasure of saying they got to see The Marías twice.

Here at iso, we are beyond grateful that The Marías team allowed us to cover such an amazing show, allowing us to become a publication. We are so excited for the future and can’t wait to see more artists.
